I had my first autox with my new miata project on Sunday. The car seemed to go well and turn well, but I forgot to check which brake pads the previous owner had left on the car. It had Hawk blues on the right front and HPS on the front left. It sure didn't stop well! It also pulled like crazy towards the left. I was pretty happy overall since I bought the car without knowing if it ran and then pulled everthing I could off the car and hoped it would still work. I think with new brakes and a muffler it should be fun. Here's a pic:

It looks like you're racing a bar of soap. I love it.
i would love to read more on your car. lets see a build thread.
Man talk about STRIPPED OUT...you might as well do like that guy with the black AW11 and slice off everything outside of the wheelbase

The Mr1.5 was an influence on this car. He races in the same region.
There is not much of a build diary. I bought the car as a rough 90 with a greddy kit and koni/h&r's for $1000. I sold the greddy kit for $500 and abou $2-300 worth of mirrors, style bar, etc. I then stripped all the easy stuff got out the sawzall. I cut the windshield off and also the trunk floor and both the bumpers off. I then made supports for the bumpers, a roll bar and then made all the aluminum body pannels. I also (with the help of my dad) Made a header since the car didn't come with one.
There really isn't much beyond the wheels except for the plastic bumpers I could save some weight, but i wanted it to look good too (relatively speaking)

1650lbs There's still more to come off. I'm still using a stock trunk lid, I didn't remove the chacoal canister, I have lots of wiring to remove, and those are the easy things.

I took the car to a lapping day at dunnville autodrome yesterday. With proper brake pads and an old set of A008R's, I was able to post the fastest lap times and that included being a little faster than an 03 911turbo awd. The porsche driver is also much more experience than I. I'm really starting to like this car. I added a muffler too to make it a little quieter.
