I'm thinking about trying this with my camaro seats, the bolsters on them leave a lot to be desired. Luckily I found a second set of seats for free so I can give it a try without any consequences. I'm afraid they may be too thin to cut up much.

When I do a foamectomy on a Miata seat, I cut out of the bottom of the base instead of the top. It seems to work well. I'll also do a lot of test-sits, and never end up with just one simple cut. I also take more out than Woody did
I also did a foamectomy on a set of Porsche 914 seats last week (worked nicely) and did major foam carving on some Miata seats for my Locost after they'd been beaten into shape. It's pretty easy to do, especially if you work bit-by-bit and keep testing.

Down here, Kieth?

I was originally going to take out the center section, but someone said that it would be better to trim the top. Do you just remove a big chunk from the bottom?

Here's another angle, before I made any cuts. Eventually, I decided to just trim the top.

I had to read this a few times before I could remember which Miata I was working on!
