I am not arguing I am seriously asking, how is this not the government didn't interfer is why they left?

I may be having a case of the Mondays on Friday but everything you wrote says government must pay GM money for them to stay.

I am well aware that GM owns Holden but it isn't a precedent for a division to be shuttered and before they do the employees or 3rd party step up to buy it and keep it going. The only big change is GM would be going from a owner to a supplier.

Correct me if I am wrong but the Holden brand isn't built anywhere else? I know some Holden vehicles are sold elsewhere.

So now we see the truth.

GM to Australian Government: "Either pay us to stay or we are leaving, and people will blame you for interfering."

Aussie Government: "No and they won't believe you"

GM: "We are shutting our factories due to the governement not working with us. We will import Holden from China"

Aussies: "Damn you government and your interfering!!!"

Aussie Government: "Why did we not leave this to the Brits again?"

Nothing constructive to add, but every time I've come across this thread title I think, "hey they're talking about tractors on GRM." then I'm let down a bit when I re-read the title.

Carry on.
