My daughter's 2017 Ford Escape AWD with 80k miles has a transmission issue.  She took it to her local Ford Dealer in New Hampshire for her last warranty service 3 months ago.  She told them the car had a transmission issue, they ignored her treating her like an ignorant female.  Now the car is having a problem and they told her it was out of warranty.  They told her the fluid was low and probable burnt, but there is no dipstick to check the fluid.  Does anyone know of similar issues with Escapes?  What should she do?

What is the "transmission issue"?

Find a new service center.
(and I've not heard of issues, but that doesn't mean they don't exist)

the only Escape trans issue I know of is

which may not apply to your vehicle

The car does not shift easily from 1st to 2nd when the engine is cold, even in warm weather.

Thanks for the recall notice, she will be checking on this.

We had a similar issue with our 2018 Escape. It would not shift correctly. Turns out it was the wastegate actuator.
