Typical mini-max antics...

... and a horrible decision by the stewards means I'm finding something else to watch.

So if you missed the drivers parade it was pretty funny, full sized two seat Lego cars for each team with both teammates in a single car limited to 20 km/h. There was course cutting, moving under braking and lots of contact with Lego debris left around the track.

I can't embed it but here is the link - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QPcG0rK9oCc&

I wonder  who got the Lego cars after the race ?

It would be cool if they had them all at one place and let the kids play in them.

Racing is just E36 M3 these days...

Watching a great 250 Supercross race, and that f-tard Deegan runs his own teammate over to win the race and beat his teammate for the championship.  Crowd booing like crazy, but the AMA officials give it to him anyways...

They're breaking them down into oversized Lego buckets right now lol

Watching the two McLarens deal with Max was great. He fought them hard and nobody crashed. Some really tight driving on other passes, too - both Lewis and Charles had to be super-precise when getting squeezed against the wall.

Sainz did his best to cause a big accident on the last lap, not so clean.

Now I'm going to have to go watch the Lego race.

Sainz "he moved in the braking zone!"

Meanwhile Hamilton is just turning into the corner.

It was fun watching Max defend like crazy and the McLaren's eventually forcing him into a mistake, they did have a significant pace advantage though. My question is, did all that time defending actually cost Max the podium? It gave Oscar the buffer he needed, that was for sure.

Glad they were able to take care of those few cars with a VSC instead of safety cars as they should in F1.

Good racing with passes on track at the front. Lewis enjoying ferrari strategy.

Adami: "Sainz 1.4 behind."

Hamilton: "You want me to let him past as well?".

Had to rewind to make sure I heard that right.

Very entertaining race.  The McLaren/ Max stuff was great.  Albon, and Willuams in general, had a great day.

Is George planning on finishing third every race this year?  Might not be a bad strategy, overall.

Have to watch the highlights later, but is it safe to think that Oscar drove super consistently and keeps looking like a WC more than Lando?

I really want Lando to win, but again, Oscar seems more stable to win right now.

Yes and yes. I'm rooting for Lando, too. I like his attitude of not having to be a shiny happy person to win, even if I'm not sure it's true.

Oscar is just as fast, and he seems to be completely unflappable. He's the guy to beat for the WDC this year.

Lando might have the edge on raw pace alone, but like was said, Piastri seems more consistent and less prone to mistakes. I wouldn't bet against him for WDC.

I am beginning to wonder if my expectations of Norris are unfairly high. Piastri needed some laps and attempts to get by Verstappen. But the "feeling" is that he somehow got by easier than Norris. I think it is that Norris passes seem more risky as he is often off the track compared to Piastri. So they both got by and Norris actually had to get a by a few cars before getting to Verstappen. So great race in a great car for both of them. Norris I think is faster overall but just not performing good race craft.

Russell is showing strength after strength plus got some luck.

Albon......hope the Williams gives him what he needs to win many races next year.

I feel worried that Lawson is crumbling under the Red Bull pressure.

Tsunoda is doing well getting closer and closer to Verstappen so hopefully he will get a podium this year.

Just watched the highlights video. I think it took Piastri 9-10 laps to get by Verstappen and it took Norris 5 or so.

Perception issue?

Max used up his tires defending from Oscar, I think.  By the time Lando got to him, tires were worse.

Plus, it wasn't for the lead.  Once Max has lost the lead and starts going backwards, his douche level drops quickly.

Yeah, and there was an earlier one where you could just hear the "eye roll/smdh" when he simply said "man...you guys."

I thought he'd have a strained relationship with the team and its penchant for switching through the alphabet of plans (see page 1 of the thread)...too bad I seem to be correct so far.

Oscar seems to have better opening laps than Lando and that makes a big difference in the race. Maybe it was Max's tires being chewed up but it seemed like Oscar also lost a lot less time in his 9 lap battle with Max over Lando's 5. Lando seems to have the edge on keeping the tires happy though and that costs Oscar as the race goes on.

I thought it was a good race, however I got rid of my F1TV subscriptions and just watching highlights, perhaps my view took out the boring. I don't understand why Lando wasn't patience at the 1st turn especially after watching Kimi on Saturday. It's like Lando is in panic mode because he is behind Piastri, where Piastri just let the race come to him, and Max made a mistake and Piastri took off. The Mclaren is the fastest car on the track, Lando doesn't need to make desperate moves. Lando has come out about the mental prospective his emtions may be getting the best of him, but looking at Piastri he just ice cold, he truly is the iceman.

The way everything is playing out at Ferrari is so predictable, two divisions and bad strategy calls. The TV coverage just loves covering Hamilton being a sniffling child.

Meanwhile Williams has taken the place of AM and there have been some good scraps with Albon and Sainz. Sainz late lunge on Hamilton was never going to work, but the cry of I should still be in that car, I bet is driving Sainz crazy.

AM looks miserable, if they are trying to court Max, they need to show something. The racing between Alonso and Lawson was obviously going to end in tears.

Unless RB has some upgrades, the car isn't remotely close to Mclaren. Max is in full elbow mode and Tsunado was faster in RB jr. car.

Mercedes are looking decent and I think a few upgrades could overtake RB easily, but beating Mclaren may be out of reach. The car and drivers are very strong combo.

All  you had to do was walk on the track barefooted and blindfolded.  You would definitely have found all the Lego's.

I appreciated that the commentary from several different news/podcast sources stated that the drivers chose to update the driving standards to no longer require room on the outside for a car doing the passing unless certain conditions are met.

So almost feel F1 dropped the ball on not pushing that news out more, making it unavoidable for news/podcasts to not report it at the start of the season. Or maybe I missed the news of the change. But these aggressive inside passes that leave no room and a car goes off road instead of good wheel to wheel racing will hopefully wane as the drivers get used to this guidelines tweak.

Norris looked to have been trying to get on the inside line of turn 2. However he was blocked by Verstappen outbraking himself into Lap 1 Turn 1. Norris tried to cut under and out drag Max to turn 2 but then literally they hit wheel to wheel when Max had some oversteer and that bumped Norris off. So I agree, THIS TIME, that Norris did all the right racecraft things that just didn't work out.

I say again, I hoped Vasseur had worked Ferrari into a proper race team but wow. Outside of performing great pitstops, they seem like they are still really good at own goals.

I think Alonso, Vettel, and now Hamilton underestimate the power of the Ferrari ineptitude.

Edit: Makes me feel sad also that LeClerc will be wealthy but never world champion.

Can't feel too bad for LeClerc with that long contract though.

Forgot to mention - that move where Lewis went up the inside of Sainz when he was battling with Charles was so good. I was laughing out loud. It's a shame he didn't manage to take Charles as well.

I miss the gravel trap days.   An off ended a driver's race so they were not so free with taking chances plus the stewards didn't have to become judge, jury, and executioner for every transgression.
