Hey all, LONG Time reader, first time caller!
I'm working on machining a bellhousing adapter for use with an Aisin AY6 Manual found in the CTS and Camaro 3.6/3.0/2.8 V6 Engines.
I have searched to the end of the internet for a cad file, or even just dowel hole dimensions (relative to crank centerline). Can anyone kindly help me out here? I can send it out to be CMM'd, but it sure would be nice to save 300 dollars at the metrology lab!
And just so everyone is aware, the pattern is not the same as Ecotec 4 cyl or the classic GM "60 Degree Metric" pattern used by the 3800, 3400, etc...
Thanks!
I know you've searched far and wide, but I'd look at the Fiero forums. Fiero guys have swapped every GM engine and trans at some point, and I've learned a lot about different bellhousing patterns (and which ones share dowel locations) from reading posts there.
Good luck. You, and everyone who makes engine/trans adapters, are doing the lord's work.
You can get 3D models from GM if you're a SEMA member, but you need to give the reason. I have the T56 and LS3 models, for example. Might be worth talking to a shop that works with those transmissions/engines and see if they'll send you the dimensions. They'll be under an NDA for the model itself.
In reply to obsolete :
Much appreciate the idea, but believe it or not, it's not available there either! I also would have for sure thought the fiero guys knew. I think the HFV6s that have been swapped all kept the GM transmission they came with, so no adapters were necessary.

Much appreciate the idea, I'll put out some Facebook calls to see what I can dig up...
