Tough luck with XP4. How many track sessions on that 140k mile motor? Wouldn't complain too much. :)

Is the MEVSTER available in the US? If so, is it available with the sport chassis? I like the added curved windshield; it means i won't always have to wear driving goggles or a motorcycle helmet if i just want to take a quick spin.
Also, Factory Five Racing has good descriptions of "what you need" in addition to "what is provided". Does Exomotive has a "what you need" list, or a list of things that aren't provided in the kit and need to be purchased or custom fabricated?
The mevster is available in the us. It has to be imported by exomotive from the uk. As far as frame goes it uses a completely different frame than the us exocet. The us exocet does have a wind screen under development. You can also order a race chassis with windshield mounts.
As far as what is needed from the donor. You need the complete ppf(engine, suspension, transmission, rear end,etc..) you also need all steering components and wiring harness, fuel system. You are using most of the miata except the body and various interior bits.
Hope this helps.
That looks damn fine, Mr. Steadfast. I'm happy to finally see one in something other than black. FYI, the clamshell was intended to be mounted a bit higher to give a gap between it and the frame, as fiberglass on powdercoat will scratch it quickly. Edge trim will solve that problem. NB2 owners will need to do that to clear their VVT module, anyway.
I just watched the video of XP-4 blowing up. It wasn't the 305 tune, it was egregious driver error. Like, not letting off the clutch all the way and engaging the anti-lag for more than a lap, error. I'm really butthurt about it.
How could you tell he didn't let out the clutch all the way?
And to show how clueless I am, what is the anti lag you mentioned?
How much gap should their be, and I can do adjust it. I assume just enough so that the hood isn't touching?
About 1/4" will do.
The video shows the foot pushing the clutch pedal, and it was bouncing off the 3500 RPM limit for a whole lap. Whoops.
In reply to Warren v:
Well that sucks. I did the same thing when I use the factory clutch switch to engage antilag. It didn't take much pedal movement to flip the switch. I use vehicle speed now, seemed more reliable until the ground wire got cut and VSS went to zero, then it sucked again. Added a second switch to turn it off entirely in case it happens again.
Before anyone says anything, the driver is a very big man, and he wasn't sitting all the way in the seat. My 6'2" self was in a similar boat in the passenger seat.
To Warren and those in the know, at the same price point would you recommend the COT wing or the APR?
In reply to gl21133:
APR. Stiffer, looks cooler. It's really am aesthetic choice. The cot wing made more sense when it was $250.

Warren,
Can you share this info please?
In reply to Warren v:
Thank you sir, I ordered through FM with the COT mounts, but my chassis is still a ways out, I assume I can still change that up?

This picture makes me wish I HAD ordered the 1" taller roll hoop. Oops. If I can't get my tall butt low enough, maybe I'll just drop the floor...
Out of curiosity, how tall is this fine individual?
Also, I'll second the request for updates on spacers/windshield!
In reply to ashneyder:
weird, I already made a reply answering this. I guess that post got deleted.it is one eighth of an inch thick.
