I'm done for real this time. Tow truck on the way to bring it to my trusted shop. I got most of the broken stud on the pass. side drilled out. However, a drill bit broke inside. Luckily I got it out, but the hole will need to be heli-coiled most likely. The driver's side exposed stud just won't budge, even with welding a nut, heat, penetrating lube, more heat, weld a washer to the stud and a nut to that and the stud. Nada. I didn't even attempt the stud broken off in the head. This thing has kicked my a$$ and I'm out of time. I'll still have to put it all together again once they get the studs out though.

Also, does anyone have a truck and trailer I can borrow to bring my truck home? AAA won't cover the return trip from the shop to my house. I'll pay fuel and beer!

Thanks again for all the help and advice! If I had more time and patience (I ran out today), I'd give it another shot.

pull the heads off... replace with GT40 heads from an Exploder...

probably cheaper than paying to have someone else do the work then drag it back to your house afterwards...

Alright. It cost me an arm and half a leg, but I had the three broken bolts/studs removed and the holes were heli-coiled. The truck is back together and running great. It no longer sounds like a machine gun. And I'll be able to tow to the race this weekend!

Thanks everyone for all the suggestions and help! I was able to get as far as I did with your help, but just didn't have the proper tools to get the job completely done. More stuff added to the wish list.
