It looks like the dash is WRX, so I would guess that. Smog (if needed) would be easier that way, but getting pulled over would require a lot of explaining.

I'd bet it's registered as a Honda. Older car, so less strict emissions, no airbags, etc.

Hmmm. Firewall is Subie. I dunno if that'll matter. The primary VIN plate on an EG Civic is on the dash on the driver's side.
