I started this thread (three years ago, wow!) and eventually bought a 2005 Yukon XL Denali. The regular Yukon (not Denali's AWD) and a non-XL would be a great truck it sounds like.

Just found this....have a 2004 Bravada awd in the driveway with 240K on the odo, but hasn't been all peaches 'n cream. On the second motor after cyl head dropped a valve seat @169k. Why not a cyl head rebuild you might ask ....seems extricating the head can result in multiple broken head bolts....so a new bullet it is. Pssst...sshhhh don't tell anyone I've never serviced the trans in this...still slams second gear as when I first got it...

BIL had one that was an off lease that my FIL purchased (lease, then FIL, then BIL)

It was OK when the FIL had it. He is about as mechanically inclined as a lemur. So I am not sure the few issues he had were legit or him getting Hennessy Honda of Woodstock-ed. Said the whole electrical system went out.

BIL had transmission issues past 120k.

That's all I got.

This needs to be added to the GRM lexicon alongside Berkeley, E36-M3 and Shiny Happy Person!

HHoW screwed over a GRMer. So we had a thread that all it was is how HHoW sucked. In multiple different phrases and ways.

We bent the internet (because you can't actually break the internet). We were the third search on google for a while. We have since sunk to page 10.

So when you Googled Hennessey Honda of Woodstock you got, HHoW paid ad. HHoW website. Then HHoW sucks GRM forum page detailing what they did wrong.

Don't berkeley with GRMers.

The 4L60E is of minimal concern to us, my dad knows a guy that makes a side job out of building them.

The tow vehicle / DD is a 2007 Trailblazer LT with the infamous 5.3l V8 (of "quart every 500 mile" fame). I've seen the HVAC actuators kill themselves when the battery was swapped, the cabin electrical system is haunted, the engine occasionally guzzles more oil per 1000 miles than my RX-8, and there is a weird driveline resonance right at 70mph that makes one go, "Hrmmm?".

On the other hand, it's paid for, I've seen 25 mpg highway mileage, the insurance is OK, and it pulls the Econotrailer / RX-8 load with ~16 mpg wherever I need it to go. I can tolerate the 'dino tax' a little while longer.

So, now I've got to get a good look at the brakes. Great. This thread has "harshed my mellow".

For those of y'all that still have one of these in the driveway, here's my latest adventure with the '04 Bravada. The headlights in the past three weeks have been coming 'on' all by themselves. This almost made for a trip in search of the appropriate battery. Since this light switch is the second one in said vehicle, I turned to RAuto and voila, put it in yesterday. In less than 15 minutes the Hl's came on not once, but four times in less than 30 min. Off to the interwebb, and lo and behold #46(headlamp driver module relay) in the engine compartment fuse cluster is/was the culprit. Installed and fixed, Yea Team !!!
