I"m sorry, I guess since the size of my penis is directly related to the number of cubic inches/liters a potential car to build may have.... I guess that only leaves me with a 8.1L big block.
LOL - actually, the data shows that relationship to be INVERSELY proportional.
OK, so in my case I need at LEAST the 8.1L. Is there anything bigger?
anyone priced manual trans Fox bodies lately? Did they suddenly become made of gold, platinum and diamonds?
Well hell... scratch this idea.

Quit trying to use a T5. Go look for four speeds.
Don't care about the T-5 as much as having the pedals in place

Sort of like where NA Miatas are starting to go. After years of, "oh those are cheap... who cares if we cut up another one..." it's getting harder find ones that haven't been wrecked, chopped up, or simply rusted away.
It happens to every 'common car' eventually.
Why not swap the 4.8 screamer into a better and lighter car? Like a 240sx or something?
You know, because those are cheap, too!
Not lighter... but I'd love to see a 4.8 screamer in a Z32. Stock trans should hold the power without issue. Not sure how to mate it to the 4.8 though.

Yeah. The price of the Foxes are getting insane. What about SN95 or if you can find one, a Capri? Seems like Capris can be a little cheaper.

Where are you finding cheap LS motors? I am getting a little unexpected money and thought if I could get my Monte running for $1000 or so I would do it. So far I found nothing near by.
I picked up mine from LKQ. They shipped it to for free to their place closest to my addy and I picked it up there.
I was down in GA visiting some friends and fam. We made a run to LKQ to pick up an alternator and PS pump. I casually inquired if they had a 4.8 in stock. We walked out back and they had a Silverado with one. Started it up didn't make any strange noises and the oil looked ok. He said he could ship it to crib or I could come back and pick it up. 4 hrs one way nor did $300 shipping sound too appealing . . . But $500 complete ready to run did.
The rep said he could ship it to NC hub for free and I could get it from there. Drove 3hrs total to pick it up and bring it back.

I'm finding $300-$350 for 130k miles and up for the 4.8
OK.... now I'm thinking about an MX6/F2T beater today. But I can't find any first Gen Elantra's that aren't completely rusted away or 3k miles from me. 2200lbs and a 4G63T in that bitch. ALL THE BOOSTS! until the trans comes apart... but it'll be fun until then.
