One other thing to point out, I've not seen any significant coverage about what the car was.
I drove to work yesterday at 6PM and even trying to avoid the news, I heard about the accident and that it was a Genesis enough times that I didn't listen to the radio on the way home this morning.
Hyundai has been trying, without much luck, to sabotage their own efforts the last couple years with atrocious customer service, 5 billion dollars worth of bad engines and now a flaming car problem that they're doing their best to ignore and/or dispute.
This will have zero negative effect.

Torrance Memorial and Little Company of Mary Hospital were both closer ,
But for sure Harbor UCLA has more experience putting people back together ,
I wish Tiger well , I hope he is recovered enough to show up at his Gig on the weekend .
The roads in that area are sketchy in some parts and you can pick up speed fast on some of the downhills going into blind corners. Throw in a cyclist or two and it's a recipe for disaster if you take your eyes off the road for a split second.
Crash, not accident.
This bodes well for PR surrounding Genesis' safety systems and the overall design of the GV80. That was a nasty crash that could have gone much worse in an older vehicle. The pano roof was intact, the passenger cabin held up well from the few photos I've seen.
Also, Tiger has crashed at least one other vehicle in the past, I believe due to driving under some sort of influence. Sad to see this happen a second time.

As noted above, having Hyundai as the sponsor for a professional golf tournament will help legitimize the brand for people who care what others think about the car they drive. The fact that there was a famous person involved in a crash will get the same news out to people who don't care about golf.
It'll be good, overall, for the brand.
genesis better run some commercials touting safety.. stat.
After this accident, I can no longer feel comfortable or safe playing Hard Drivin on my Sega.

Since I work from home, I have a TV on pretty much all day, and since I don't want to engage in a real show, and don't want real news, I have it on ESPN most of the day. Of course, they spend most of their time these days talking about Tiger. I still have not heard them utter the word Genesis, let alone Hyundai.
This won't hurt Hyundai in the slightest. As alfadriver points out, the hardcore sports fan could care less what kind of car it was. And the layperson will probably think "wow, that car held up pretty good for such a bad crash". What stumps me is, with all Tiger's gone through in the last decade +, why his agent (or anyone close to him for that matter) hasn't insisted he hire himself a driver (excuse the pun) to shuttle him around. It's not like he can't afford one.

Probably for the same reason Harrison Ford likes to crash aircraft.
I'm Tiger Woods, I know a thing or two about hard hits, (video montage of ). That's why I trust my safety to the new Genesis....,
I will agree, one thing that surprised me when I read of the accident here on GRM was, "...really, Tiger drives his own car?" "In LA?"
Driving his car is probably one of the rare occasions when he gets a little privacy.
In reply to Woody (Forum Supportum) :
With that being the case he should've learned from Eddie Griffin

Interesting thing is they took him to LA County Harbor UCLA hospital which is an old Public hospital mostly used by the poor ,
I wonder if they will transfer Tiger to a "High class" hospital.
My experience is admittedly several decades out of date and way over on the other side of the country but when I was a first responder and later when I was a tow truck operator crash victims were taken to the nearest ER that had an available doctor without regard to their socioeconomic status.

He totally launched off the loop to watch the crash replay.

Tiger apparently had back surgery 2 weeks ago.

I was surprised Tiger drives a Hyundai until I realized it's a course promo car.
The top trims of this car start at $65k+, and offer a whole lot for that money. This isn't 1980's Hyundai anymore:
I’m just trying to figure out why that Cadillac SUV has a Chrysler emblem over the grille

I'll never own a Carrera GT or a 550 Spyder after what happened to those two.
In reply to adam525i (Forum Supporter) :
I'll never own one because of WWII Panzers.

On the subject of why UCLA, I believe that it is a Level 1 trauma center so that was probably a determining factor.

Probably correct , And for those not in SoCal , Harbor UCLA Hospital is not at the UCLA university campus , its about 20 miles south in Carson
