I really wish Mazda would start a paint to order program similar to Porsche.  I think Miata faithful would pay for this option.  I know I'd become more interested.  With paint robots and auto mixing it isn't hard to do.  The cost is the cleanup between color changes.  I'm a little familiar with this because Peterbilt trucks are paint to order.  I wasn't a paint shop manger but I was in the plant.  I also have an uncle that paints Lexus'.

Great car.  I have a 2019 RF Club with many of the same mods, have owned it for 2 years now and it still puts a smile on my face every time I get in. I also paid more for mine, you got a good deal there!

Hey Warren, any chance that was you on North Territorial at Whitmore Lake Rd. about 5:00 yesterday evening?  I was going the other way in the 911.  The Miata looked great.

Yes, I saw the 911 and after passing, wondered if it was you. Just an FYI, if you feel like an early Sunday morning drive, there's a group of Miata club guys that get together at 7:00 AM at the Sunoco on Territorial. While they're mostly Miata people ,the club president drives a Boxster and there was someone with a Ford GT last Sunday. Everyone is welcome.

Last night I got my first drive since the test drive , about 70 miles to a club meeting and back. My other car is an R53 MINI that I've been driving for 16 years, so that's my comparator. Also, since my health issues last year, my left hand doesn't fully function...low grip strength. The ND steering wheel rim is thinner than the R53's and I notice it , especially when turning and shifting simultaneously. Both cars have round ball shift knobs and the ND's is smaller, and the shifter feels more delicate, but it's also easier to use, too. While an ND looks like a coupe, it's not, and the wind noise level is much like my NB was with the hardtop on. The Ohlins shocks are just amazing, smooth over choppy pavement and railway tracks. I was on a two lane county road on the way home , so I tried a couple of panic stops from 55-60 mph, the 12.88" brakes are amazing ,too, It might be fun to try an autocross if I get the chance, although I see STR ND's use some pretty impressive spring rates and bigger bars. Overall I'm very pleased with how it behaves. Quieter would be nice, but I just turned my hearing aids off for the drive home.laugh
