Last year I had the 60K maintenance scheduled, but it was the day of the eclipse and they were closing early.  So we just did the oil change and rotation, hold off on the plugs, belt, etc.  Which was fine, wasn't too unhappy to skip ~$1k in car bills that week (got all 3 oil changes done that day somehow!).

Today it was time for the 66K work, which is normally just oil/rotation.  But I figured let's just get caught up & do everything.  They gave me a new 2024 Crosstrek Wilderness as a loaner and I was out the door in 5 minutes.  Managed to make it work only 15min late, not bad for Fairborn down to West Chester.  (This car did well at highway+ speeds.)

They just called me to recommend rear brakes and rotors, which surpised me, I would have expected front.  I hesitated at first but figured what's another $600 on the credit card?  Happy Monday!  (I have a con in Cleveland next weekend so might as well get it all sorted now.)

In reply to Jerry :

My mom's 2019 Outback is somewhere in the 50k mile range and also needed rear brakes at the beginning of this year. I found it strange as well.

I think Subaru's VDC uses the rear brakes more than the front.

Different vehicle brand, but same issue ... our '09 Accord went thru rear pads at 35k mile intervals, but the fronts lasted 2x that.  The '14 Accord that replaced it was good for 70k on both ends.  Same driver, same use profiles between the two cars.  Always thought the '09 to be peculiar in that regard.
