I'm pretty much sold on getting a G-Wagon

Awesome! I'm with her, I wouldn't get one in black/white/silver. Too boring. I insisted on "a real color" for my Range Rover and found a dark blue one, but when I was (briefly) looking at G-Wagens it looked even harder to find them in real colors unless you can buy a newer AMG model! I'd rock the hell out of a lime green or purple one.

It came in just in time for us to go on vacation for a week.  So far we really like it!  Some of the options are designo leather,  carbon fiber interior trim,  and heated steering wheel.  Has the usual heated and cooled seats,  nav,  sunroof etc.  More pictures after ceramic coating,  which is scheduled for the 29th.

I will also post pictures of what led up to this,  used 50k mile 99 Cherokee purchased in around 2004, to new 2012 Wrangler,  to this rig.  We still own all three,  so will be nice to get pictures together.

I never paid any attention to these until recently. I was working in Bakersfield and decided to go to the Petersen Museum in LA for the weekend. I finally left the museum (the basement blew me away) and headed out to find a clean healthy meal. I stopped at a Whole Foods in West Hollywood and saw a shiny new black one roll in as I walked back out to my rental. This one had the exhaust exiting just ahead of the rear wheels ala NASCAR. V12 said the badge on the side. WTF!? The door opens and out hops a stunning STUNNING blonde with a pronounced limp in her gait. ‘Hello’ she says to me somehow both looking at me and not looking at me at the same time. I now notice every one of these I see.

That was a G65.  They are over 600hp and 200k+ new.  Pretty wild!

I also love going to the Peterson.  I enjoy the basement tour more than walking around the regular museum.

I’ve always been a Land Cruiser guy (had a 60 and 80 series), but deep down I secretly love G wagons. I really like the classic ones setup for overland.

Around here everyone has G63, G65 or my neighbor with a 4x4 squared in neon yellow. Ironically the cheap G550 is the most “exclusive” of its models. G is the only Benz that MBUSA sells , where the AMG sells in more quantity than non AMG model

 Pretty sure you ran into Kylie Jenner. She has a very awesome G65 that's slightly lifted.  It's beautiful!

Does she limp?  Could have been.  I don’t follow stars.  Aside from a few of the YouTube celebrities (Cleetus, Sloppy, Fry Burger, Finnegan, Dolcich) I couldn’t identify any of them.

Kylie Jenner has a 4x4 SQUARED. Which is quite a bit different than a standard AMG commoner G waggen.

You could probably recreate that for <15k.  Unless you got cheaper wheels, then maybe 10k.  Cayennes are cheap!

Most Ferrari’s are driven by fat white old men, doesn’t detract me from wanting to own one :) 

You are rich. I live in poor neighborhood, here every other house has G63/G65, no one has a Squared 

On my street they are all all driven by super hot women; the kind that precludes one from  ever needing viagra 

I will never own a Squared, but I will own a G550 someday :) 

If my wife makes me a widower I’m hanging around Whole Foods hoping to meet those G wagon ladies.  

In all fairness if I go first she’s going to remodel the kitchen and master bathroom.

I didn’t meant to insinuate that they’re not awesome-  just think it’s crazy that they have portals in the land of flat- they’re awfully cool though. 

I’d be a very happy dude with a Ferrari if I could ever make that happen. I also live a few streets over from the upper crust- and I bought a project house of course in true grm fashion. 

I've got an old friend who's highly successful in business to the point of absurdity. He shows up driving one of these things. The inside is the definition of posh, and there's a twin-turbo V-8 under the hood. Says that a friend gave it to him when he upgraded to the new model.

God help me, now that I'm seeing them start to creep under $20 grand, they're kind of catching my eye. Then again, if I just put Mercedes hubcaps on an older Mitsubishi SUV, I'd probably fool 2/3 of the people who looked.

When I had my Rubi my dealer did free washes when you got it dirty.  I drove it in mud up to the hubs but it cleaned up easy.  You’d never have known when seeing me commuting in it dressed for work.

I’ll stick to sweet talking my little sister out of her X5 diesel when she upgrades.  That car is “tuned” and has more useable power than just about anything I’ve driven.  Drives really nice too.

Interiors have come a long way since I last sat in one. Which admittedly was when I was a conscript in the German Airforce.
