Seriously Dario, now regular viewers of the Indy 500 know enough not to get between Ashley and a TV camera but really, now....
You brought your dogs with you? And you let Ashley in all of the photos of you and your sponsors? Good grief.

Back in 1977; A.J. Foyt wouldn't have done this when he won his 3rd 500.
Tom Carnegie is spinning in his grave.
I suspect the sponsors like it and encourage her to be in the photos. Ask the average person to name one driver in the Indycar series. They might be able to name Helio for his non-driving activities. Everyone knows who Ashley Judd is.
I'm sorry, but I'm pretty sure that ths was not the only photo of Dario with the trophy.
What the Hell is wrong with wanting a "family photo" with the Borg-Warner after you've won it fir the third time???
As far as the dogs, well, alot of drivers travel with them... They're a little slice of home when you're on the road so much.
Would it make you happier if I had won the race? Then you would have the same photo, except I don't have Dario's hair...
Or a wife...
Or dogs.
Yeah, I can understand how you would much rather see a balding 46 year-old single dude pose with his cat.

it might get some of her fanbase to watch a race or two.. it's doubtful, but it could happen..
i have no problem with a wife being in pics, regardless of who she is- but the dogs? seriously? kids i could understand.. but dogs? and they're not even real dogs.. a couple of 100+ pound German Sherpherds could make even the new Indycars look badass if they were posed right, but those- ?dogs?- make it look like an RC car or something..

Really. Quit your whining, it's his victory, let him do what he wants.
This is actually an improvement. Consider that this is a picture of the winner of the race rather than a brief mention of that and pictures of Danica who usually crashed. That's progress! The Danica issue is now over at NASCRAP where I don't see, don't watch, don't care. The universe has shifted as even F1 racing is pretty good this year. Go figure.

They are crying all the way to the bank.....
Graw! I don' wanna see any o' them women-folk in mah racin' photos! I want all sausage, all the time! Watching other people race is serious, manly, business!
...And don't even get me started on them effeminate, girly-man dogs. Real dogs should look like they've just rolled in their own poo, by god!
Thump thump thump.
Sorry, but that is not a new photo. That is certainly from his 2010 victory. The number is clearly 10, not 50 (his current Indy number), and that is very obviously an old car, not the new Dallara DW12.
While I'm glad there is talk about IndyCar (the series deserves more, it really is good), I don't understand all of the negativity. I especially don't understand the negativity toward Dario and Ashley. He is talented, and she is a sweet woman.
Seriously great people...

That comment was in poor taste.
That's a photo I'd be happy to hang on my own wall were I him. Celebrating a moment, surrounded by the reasons that I'm happy.
Tell ya what: When you win Indy, do it however you want.

The filename on the photo says 053110. Good catch!

No, he couldn't have. In 1977, Foyt was celebrating his 4th 500 victory. The three prior were in the 60's.
Other that that, who cares? He won, and is allowed to choose who and what are in the picture.
I'm not a fan of Dario for his attitude over the last 2 seasons, not because he's a great driver who has a great looking actress wife that is ALWAYS there. Think about that- a car racing Scott has a beautiful wife from Kentucky who not only knows his history, she also has a good grasp of Scottish racing history.
Pete240Z wrote: I looked at the 500 website and he took similar pics with his Dad and the team owner........
That bastard. If it was me I'd have a pic with the wife and dog, parents, and probably anyone else that was there. I don't understand why everyone hates his wife for being famous.
In reply to alfadriver:
You are right and since I was there I should know better.
Pace Car: 1977 Oldsmobile Delta 88. I loved that boat.
And what is wrong with Ashley being in the photos? She is quite attractive. I find it refreshing that there is NOT some pit poppies hanging off the driver looking like they should getting a motel room.
When the girls in the winner photos look younger than your kids the attraction kind of goes away. I like that photo and being a dog owner I would have my dog in the photo. I bet those dogs are like children to them. It is kind of refreshing to see Indy getting away from the stereo typical stuff. Making it a little more family oriented is a good thing!
