B5-chassis Audi A4 Quattro for +/- $500, add used 4.2V8, part-out the huge Audi crapcan that donates the 4.2, then get some cheap used coil overs & install the base-model Porsche Boxster brake calipers left over from my Carrera-brakes upgrade? Is this a really horrible idea?
Nope. Start the build thread already.
Seems like a lot of work but I say go for it.
Is there a such thing as a terrible Challenge idea?

The only Terrible Challenge Car Idea is the one not acted upon.
It may not make it 500ft passed the starting line, but if you want to, it would be awesome to see.
I would help with that. I can cut and weld.

I'm pretty sure you'll get your picture in the magazine.
I fail to see how this is a bad idea.
Lol, I think I'll wait to do a crazy challenge car until I got a few under my belt

Seems like a better idea than my K20 FWD 78 XJ12 idea.

You should be able to fit the k20 in the trunk of that thing. Keep it rwd.

Man I think I twisted that all around I had the Jag V12 in a Chevy K20 pickup with the rear driveshaft removed. I even thought about the Jag having a 400 trans already so the transfer case should work.

You need to realize that the Challenge itself is really just a bad idea gone right.

In reply to Woody:
Then I must be a terrible challenge car idea generator, as I have many, many challenge car daydreams but my imagination is always bigger than my allotment of free time to persue these ideas. It doesn't help that I have so many big projects that I doubt it's humanly impossible to live long enough to complete them all. So, naturally, I'm off to search for a cheap A4...
