A friend and I truly believe we could make a good living doing these types of things.

Neither has the balls (is that too much for a family-friendly site) to pull the trigger.

Yeah that kinda sucked. Why put it under the intake manifold, at least I didn't need a lift.

As mentioned earlier I bought a set of wheels off of craigslist. I searched every which way i could think of but had no luck finding a set of wheels that would fit well into the budget. I found a killer deal on a set of new 2015 Camry wheels for $200 but I really didn't want 18's. Finally I searched for Infiniti wheels but I intentionally spelled it wrong with a "y" on the end. An ad appeared on the Daytona Beach craigslist for simply "Infinity wheels", no size, no lug pattern, nothing, just a picture of one wheel and a price of $100. The add was 28 days old but I tried sending a text anyway. A few minutes later a received a reply that they were still available. The next day I set out for the 100 mile drive to Daytona with a new book on CD downloaded to my phone. When I got there I met with the seller who was an older gentleman from New Jersey. He explained that they were for his snow tires which he no longer needed since moving to Florida. They were mounted on his G35 and he wanted them out of his garage. Apparently I was the only one who called and he accepted my offer of $80 due to the corrosion on the wheels.

They are 17x7.5 Kazeras and are by no means light, but they will hold a 245/45/17 and are the correct offset.

A little sanding and some primer and they were ready for paint.

And finally a little clear coat...

...and a set of shocks, ebay as well $200.00

Two cans of wheel paint at $8.99 $17.98

There is nobody I trust more with spray paint. Will be interested to see if you hook nitrous up.

I am pretty sure I will not have room in the budget for it. I still need a set of springs and an alignment. I may sell the stock wheels to make some room if it comes down to it.

In reply to pimpm3:

Take a page out of the Hong Book Of Spring and go to the junkyard with your tools and a tape measure. Check pickups and vans for springs with same OD and larger diameter wire. Cut to desired height, balance with bars, win.

Not always true. There are some eBay sellers that will rip you off on shipping to make more money

My buddy had a unfortunate surprise when he showed up to work this morning... Of course I thanked him and told him that I would be competing in the challenge with a nice set of 19's

He was less amused then his business partner and I were. I of course took this as an opportunity to sell him my stock wheels and tires. Score $300.00 back into my budget due to my friends unfortunate run in with two thieves the night before.

As an added bonus he gave me the lug nuts for me to use for my wheels. Good thing for me the thugs left them.

This is a good strategy im going to get full coverage and park my car in the city till my wheels disappear. I can probably get full recoup that way.

$1760.97 + $209.74 Springs = $1970.71

$1970.71 - $300.00 Wheels sale= $1670.71

I bought the tires for roughly $600 and the brake pads were roughly $110 for fronts and rears. (Don't have the receipts in front of me) They are budget exempt obviously.

I might have to find some nitrous now that I have a little budget left in order to keep up with Willrunifchased.

Started removing the suspension today...

It went pretty smoothly overall. The drivers side which I did first took about an hour. I was able to do the passenger side in about 20 minutes since I knew what to remove.
