New to me Bilsteins...

Stock shocks and springs removed. I will use the press at the car lot to remove the top hats.

New sway bar next to the stock one. The OE front bar is 28 mm, the new one is 30 mm.

Mostly installed...

Is 28mm to 30mm worth the budget hit?
On the other hand, in the rear of the Q45 I'm going from no bar to 20 mm.

The bars came together, $159.00 after shipping for both. I couldn't find a rear bar by itself for cheaper then that.

Yeah, on my rear bar, I paid almost as much in shipping as I did for the bar

Yeah some people are totally unscrupulous and use shipping as a profit center haha

It's Sunday in Gainesville. Not sure which event it is. I am signed up and paid already. I signed up through the buccaneer scca site.

Really trying to resist making you an offer on that car post challenge. I don't even remotely have a place for it in the fleet, but I've always wanted one.

I just wanna see if any of you guys are willing to use the 200 shot of Naaaws those things should handle for the challenge drags. (might decrease the likelihood of a post challenge offer, but its worth it)

200 sounds like a challenge.

Also looks good, I'm hoping to take the ls400 out in two weeks.

I think I beat the Ferrari. They haven't posted the official results yet so not 100% positive.

The car was actually fun to drive and was neutral. I really need an LSD and figure on this weekends course it would have shaved off at least a second from my time.

Those people in the photo (the closer group of three) with the Ferrari are not exactly in the best of places. You may want to point that out to whom ever was organizing that event.

New wheels...

I was forced to acquire a new set of wheels due to a freak occurrence on the way home from the autocross. The right rear caliper is a drop in style. Some how the outer portion separated from the inner portion and rotated upwards while I was slowing for a stop light. The outer caliper section lodged its self in the wheel punching a huge hole in the barrel of the rim and locking up the tire. I have never seen that before and am thankful that it happened while travelling at a low rate of speed close to home. It looked as if one of the two bolts that hold the caliper together sheared off allowing the outer half to pivot on the other bolt. The inner section was still bolted to the wheel bracket and the pads were miraculously still wedged in the broken caliper sections.

$1670.71 - $80.00 for original wheels which are now useless. = $1590.71 + $200.00 for new 350Z wheels from craigslist = $1790.71

Ouch! Well at least Nissan/Infiniti Wheels always seem to look good on Lexuses(sp)?.

My car produces massive inside wheel spin, are you having the same issues?

Yes it's ridiculous, I wish I had some pictures from outside while autocrossing. That's why I said a lsd would be worth at least a second if not two.

Welding the diff might be the only budget friendly solution.

Have you tried disconnecting the rear sway bar?

Lets say you want to put an intake on a GS400 but don't want to cut up the stock airbox or spend $300.00. What would one do? Go to Home Depot of course! I picked up a 3 inch pipe conduit piece and a plastic gang box for like $12.00 total. I then ordered a 4 inch K&N filter from summit for $35.00.

Anyways onto the pictures... I unfortunately didn't take any until I cut down the conduit pipe but you get the idea.

I traced out the opening for the stock MAF mount.

Then I cut up the gang box thingy...

A little JB Quick...

Notice I had to grind down the end of the intake so it would fit into the stock intake tube.
