Funny story....  The 2x4 hood prop whacked the repaired coolant nipple on the radiator and it's dripping a bit of coolant.  Who'd of thunk we'd have a mechanical failure at the concourse?

Man everyone likes ya don't make us say it... Honestly spin that right and you have an entertaining story for the judges

Congratulations to Material Girls Racing! And thank you to everyone who competed this year.

I'm sorry I couldn't make it this year, but I'm already looking forward to next year's $2000 Challenge.

What was the original chassis?

When I read about this on page one or two, and saw that they replaced a Taurus body with a Ranger, my first thought was "well, as one does, I suppose"

That seems intense. Like trying to stick a Panhard body on a Prius.

My partner's 17 year old daughter attended her first $2000 Challenge this year.  Inspired by the Material Girls, she talked me into committing to a Challenge effort with her next year, and she is now the proud owner of the 2004 Parking Lot Build car:

Stay tuned... See you next year!

It's nice to see more young people taking part each year, especially young ladies. The car hobby is in good hands, and the Challenge can go on without us septuagenarians !!

I'm curious to see what happens about venue.

2025 might be a good year to bring down a slow GTN car, and sleepykid#1 is about old enough to come along and help out.

In reply to sleepyhead the buffalo :

There were an awful lot of GTN cars there this year that were NOT slow.

In reply to SV reX :

I've never been encumbered by the philosophical argument that I have to bring a competitive car to an event in order to attend, or enjoy, an event.

bringing sleepykid#1 along to teach them that lesson, is all the more attractive.

even better... now, I'm no longer constrained by the difficulty of orienting my dispersed life around trying to build the skills and space to build a $2k car either.
