Dinner is consumed and we're back in the car. Time to consult our handy-dandy E85 spreadsheet to figure out where we're going next.

You literally ate those burgers, made it back out into the car, got situated and pulled out that sheet... all in 10 minutes?! Good God, Andy must be able to unhinge his jaw like a python the same way you do.

There are three allowed activities on One Lap: Eating, Sleeping and Driving. Once you're done eating, run back to the car as quickly as possible to do one of the other two activities.

Oh, and in case anybody is wondering: Yes, we sleep in the CRX on transits. It's horribly loud and vibrates like crazy and every bump feels apocalyptic (16k springs), but we need to sleep whenever we can to keep going. I took a lovely hour-long nap this afternoon while Andy drove, then woke up in a gas station drenched in sweat, groaned, and got into the driver's seat. It's been about 90 degrees inside the car all day.

Time for an interior tour!

Here's the glovebox. Don't slam it, because the latch has been glued a few times, but in here you'll find checklists, caffeine pills, earplugs and other odds and ends.

Here's the center console. Note the 5th/6th/reverse lockout Andy has added, which jams into the passenger's leg on transits. I use the radar detector cord to keep it away from me. No, there are no armrests or cup holders.

Here's the mirror, Waze and radar detector. The mirror vibrates too much to be useful, but the others are quite helpful.

Here's the HVAC system. We pull on this cable for heat, and push in this cable for less heat. No heat is, sadly, not an option. At least the windshield stays clear in wet weather.

Here's my favorite part of the interior, the snack hole! This has a floor jack on the bottom, and food and water on top. We subsist mostly on peanuts and beef jerky.

We added a first-aid kit today, so Andy can treat his burn on the road.

And, well, that's about it. No radio, no adjustable seats, no nothing. Welcome to our life for a week and 3500? Miles.

You should have dropped by the X1/X1-pits... I've got two kits with us and I'm pretty sure one of them has burn cream.

In reply to sleepyhead the buffalo :

Thanks for the offer! He didn't notice the burn until we were already on the road, though. Probably a good idea to have one, anyway.

Last gas stop. Roughly two hours from the hotel. 85% sure we are now in Kentucky.

And TIME! We've officially made it to Bowling Green. Time to grab a few hours of sleep before we go on track at NCM tomorrow.

Just like that, it's time to wake up and race again. Breakfast this morning is just coffee (so far) because this hotel wants $14 for breakfast. Hard pass.
