Are the T-5 manual transmissions the same for the 3800 V6 as they are for the V8? (are they interchangeable)? Specifically will a 1995 T-5 out of a V6 car work for the V8?

Thanks in advance.

Yes. Direct bolt in for the years listed, 1995. But if you want to backdate into a fox, a different input shaft and bearing retainer are needed.

Caveat: Watch input lengths. Something in my memory says the SN95 (maybe just New Edge?) had a slightly longer input shaft so you need to also use the V6 bellhousing.

T5 had lots of changes over time. Looks like your question has been answered, but here is a link to the history of the t5:

Correct. The Sn95 chassis cars have a longer input shaft than the earlier Fox body versions (93 and earlier).

I believe the difference is 5/8"

Different gears too. I only know this cause in the rwd Volvo world, ford t5 is the trans to have but only the v8 have the proper gears to match the redblock motors. Ymmv and it may not matter for you but something to look into
