I've gone to the one in Depot Town in Ypsi the past 2 Thursdays. So there. I was more interested in the Spitfire and FB RX-7 than the megabuck cruisers.

This wasn't the depot town one.

Which one in Depot Town?

I have no current knowledge of a regular automotive event there.

Yes, I am in Trenton. Downriver is a "special" place.

They have cruise night in Depot Town every Thursday. It's mostly classics and hot rods, but they also have some late model stuff that tends to show up:

An early heads up for the MI crowd. The annual Ann Arbor Rolling Sculpture Car Show will be on 7/12. Some pretty nice machines show up and sometimes some factory show cars as well. Maybe we can plan a GRM meetup!

Believe me, Ann Arbor is "special" in it's own way too

If you are passing through some time shoot me a message and we can share a cold one and talk MG if you want!

If it isn't raining tonight I might just drag my kids to this. Thanks for the tip!

Life is good. I've found the areas that I like and I've had a blast exploring them. I'm going to be moving back across the border shortly though. My girlfriend got into a combined program at the University of Windsor and will be moving down from Toronto.

She's going to be going to law school while completing a master's in social work. ....Yeah, I'm going to have to start printing fake diplomas to keep up with her lol.

I'll offer up my space as a meeting spot if there is interest, I am in downtown Ypsi on Huron just north of Michigan Ave. There is a parking lot across the street along with Beezy's cafe (good for the morning) or Red Rock BBQ the next block over (good for afternoon/evening).

This would be a great spot for a west side Cars n Coffee type of regular get together with a different vibe than the 1st Sat of the month open house on Railroad St.

People on this board would know me from the red V8 powered Fiero and blue rotary powered Spitfire many ages ago.

Thank you for the offer!

I would so be down with a regular meet. I live on the east side of Ann Arbor so it would take me little time to get there.

Have you been to the Warehouse gathering yet? You should go, once. I have not for quite a while now, since I stopped working on my car there. for that matter, I'm hoping to sell the car I have in the warehouse soon.

You will likely meet people from R&T, CandD, and Automobile. it's not a bad thing to do.

and it's too bad you were not around a few years ago when our club had regular events at Washtenaw Community College. Those were nice. Now all the club event are up at Oakland U.

In Ypsi, first saturday each month. Not sure how public it should be made- the cars are pretty interesting there. I would have thought you would have known about it.

This is the first I've heard of the Warehouse gathering. I am very interested in learning more about it. How does one get invited?

Why don't they do events at WCC any more? That would be perfect! Oakland U is a bit of a hike since I don't have a trailer for my car.

So do you take your car there to work on? Or is it a matter of people with crazy cool car projects that open their doors to let people see them?

I am confused...

We can PM or email details if it shouldn't be made too public..

In reply to paranoid_android74:

We stopped running at WCC as they just seemed to tire of us. No idea why- we ran the events on the same lot as they do the police training, and don't do any damage to the pre-painted squares. Add to that, not many current AROC organizers live out here anymore. Plust, OU is happy to host.

As for the warehouse- I have done a lot of work there- I rented a work bay- did 3 challenges out of there. And started restoration work. But that got stalled, and someone else wanted the bay. I can still use the lift, but it's more a pain to get out there to work vs. staying at home. So I store one of my cars there full time, and used to store one during the winter. With the hopeful reduction of car count, I'll no longer have a car there.

But it is a social thing- meet every first Saturday, spring and fall drives... Just not for me, anymore.
