I have found most e36 parts to be reasonably priced.
I nearly fell off my chair when I looked up door seals for the coupe.
Pelican wants north of $400 clams (EACH)!! Best price I've found is about $325.
I normally don't bother with getting rubber bits from the boneyard, but this may call for an exception.

Ouch. I hope I don't need them for the E30 anytime soon.
I've pulled a whole bunch of them. The driver's door seal are often torn. It sort of works to install the passenger side seal on the driver's side. Pelican is expensive for dealer parts. A BMWCCA membership might get you a better price at a local dealer.
This isn't normal? I know new seals for the Celica were/are something outrageous as well. Well north of $1000 for all of them.
Every BMW door seal I ever priced seemed exorbitant for a piece of rubber.
That's not good. Mine is torn and I've been meaning to look and see how much it would cost to replace it. I guess it'll continue to be torn. Oh, well, it doesn't leak or make noise or anything.
I've always wondered about patching up door seals, at least to get a little more life out of them. You could slip some caulk backer rod inside to make a bonding surface then adhere the torn bits with silicone, both to the backer rod and to the neighboring rubber. I haven't tried this yet but it seems like a potential fix that would last a year or two.

If the seals arent torn yet get some Gummi Phlege (pelican sells it) It's a seal conditioner that will really add some life back to them. I used it on the header seal on my M3 convertible and it actually stopped the minor leaks I was having. Its now a part of my regular cleanup routine on the car, keeps the seals in good shape and the bottle lasts a long time.

What about using generic rubber gasket stuff from JC Whitney or the like and using some Shoe Goo type stuff for making the joint at the corners?
Check with http://blunttechclassic.com/, they can usually beat their competitors' prices on BMW parts.
BMW apparently only uses rubber bits that biodegrade and return to earth shortly after the warranty period expires. I wonder if the replacement parts are any better.
Wow, the one for the ti is only 70 bucks. I replaced all the door seals and gaskets and hatch gasket for less than that..
The coupes don't have frames, just the glass correct? That'd be the difference.
getbmwparts.com has it for 322 bucks
it's only the coupes and maybe verts that have the stupidly priced door seals. the sedans and Ti's are cheapish. i've been looking for a good used one since i bought mine a year ago. i'm NOT going to pay 200+ for a used one, and certainly not a new one. stupid sliding windows.
I bought a good used set for $100 for my e36 M3 from a mouth-breather kid who'd totaled his car and was parting it out on bimmerforums. Happens all the time since the e36 M3 sort of became the new Civic Si a few years back.

Which is surprising as all 4 versions have different door seals.
The coupe' has the frameless window
Sedan has a normal framed door
Ti has a framed door.. but it is the same length as the coupe'
Vert.. well, it is a vert
I bought one for my E36 coupe on Bimmerforums for $100. If you want sticker shock, check out the seat rails for the power seats!
