Still on the list, but GAWD it's expensive. Could probably find sponsors, but I'm guessing that would require us to behave, which ain't gonna happen.

Ain't no such thing as bad publicity, amirite?
My friends dad used to run in it, placed 6th in 95, I think he did better other years but don't have time to look. Notice who placed 3rd that year...

Meh, found it anyway. He placed second overall in 1994, he beat out John Buffum in an identical car. Their team was so far ahead of Buffum in the points race that Buffum (a pro rally driver), "accidentally" money shifted his car at a track near the Denver International Airport, he hopped on a plane and went home. Probably his was of saving face since he was sponsored by BMW that year and was getting creamed.

Oooh. Just discovered that Andy & Ann Hollis (friends of the magazine) dropped out yesterday. He suspects serious internal motor problems. Found out through Facebook, maybe I should check it every day?

It's a honda. Find motor. Swap in two hours. Rinse. Repeat. Didn't sound like they dropped out. Worst case, I believe I'd rent a truck and trailer, haul the car to the next track. One guy swaps motors, one guy laps the tow vehicle.
But that's me.
You can't tow the car during One Lap. If you do, it's a DQ for the team. You can tow the car to a shop, fix it and drive it to the next track and continue competing tho
I've heard of people completing the race in a different car, but only for fun at that point. No more points.
Very much want to do this. Not be competetive, just do it. That's how I'd do Targa too. And stage rally for that matter. I'm too old and too slow and too poor to really compete in motorsport, but I think I can still participate.
