Keith, please post any pix of box-flared MGB's that you may find. My mind's picture of the future of my MGB includes massive flares, but i can't really picture box-flares on a 'B. I'd love to see examples...

What i'd LOVE are the Tuckin99 style flares on an MGB, but i can't afford them and don't think i have the skill to fab them from fiberglass:

Yeah, they look like a tumor A lot of the V8 guys use flares cut out of an Omni. Not box flares, though.

I'm not a fan either. Personally, I think MG flares should be sorta box flarey, go to the top of the fender line, and keep the chrome strip line. Something like the more coke-bottle shape of an NB vs an NA. But I've never seen them done that way.

There's not much room to flare if you limit yourself to the chrome strip in the front. I'm going to try to keep it as much as I can though.

That's why I think it should go to the top of the fenderline... have a shallower falling radius. You'd keep the general front fender shape, only a bit more bulbous overall from the headlight back toward pretty close to the door.

Think box flare, but instead of stopping at the trim line it come on up the fender and blends nicely with the existing top-of-fender line.

That would let you keep the chrome strip nicely without the flare getting in the way. Although the more rounded fender might end up being slightly longer, trim-wise.

Hmmm. Box flares might just work on the Tracer; I'll have to play with this. Sounds like a worth-while change for the '10 Challenge if nothing else :).
