So.....I was out picking up a used Lawnmower today.

The guy had a 911T in the garage with many years of stuff piled on it.

He said it is a 1970 and had (maybe) a dropped valve. I did not inspect it at all.

Does anyone know what a car like this might be worth?

BTW: The car is in Morrison CO, near Red Rocks park.

If anyone is interested, I will contact him to figure out if he is dealing.....

Quietly offer 25k and don't say a word to anyone.

Also you weren't playing Forza were you?

Yeah...that's amusing. He said it was worth 10 to 20k. Me being a Porsche ignoramus, I was tempted to laugh.....

Depends how far it's really gone - Hagerty puts a '70 911T Coupe in condition #4 at around 32.5k, so I'd guess a non-running one is probably in the 20k-25k range, especially if it's got little to no rust.

Rust and condition of the interior are the big questions. To me. The mechanicals can be dealt with easier than the other two.

Why are you laughing? If it's not rusty you should already have tried the $10k offer immediately and bought it for $20k anyway.

Here is a 2 owner Targa in mustard (yuck) being auctioned, current bid is $45k.

Here is one closer to what I imagine you are dealing with
https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/dealer/porsche/911t/1835807.html

Either way... $10k is well bought - like fist pumping and jumping up/down good. $15k is pretty good, a fist pump and maybe a "sweet" under your breath. $20k is fine if you are going to restore it properly - perhaps not a hooting occasion but a solemn nod and a inside the pocket thumbs up.

As a former PCA employee 25k is a safe offer to still make a nice profit or to enjoy for yourself

If you think that's crazy check out 356 prices, even a rusty shell is worth thousands if it has a title and an intact vin tag.

Wait is the t for turbo our targa?

In reply to Jarod:

Neither. The T was the entry level 911 for those years.

T was the bottom of the rung 911. My 911 was an E and came with Fuel injection instead of dual carbs. The S was the top of the line (at the time until the RS came out)

That's REALLY close to where I grew up. Was it in one of the older houses across from the dinosaur museum?

How much impact would a rebuilt title have on the value of one of these? Normally, I wouldn't touch a rebuilt car, but Porsche fans have been known to be a little crazy

I'm in Connecticut and I have a trailer. I'd be willing to go and get it.

That's pretty solid looking by 356 standards, they rusted more than a beetle.
