I drive a 2010 TC with a 4cyl. normaly haul myself and around 1200lbs of tools and supplys. While not speedy it does okay and i like only filling up once or twice a week, travel mostly local normaly i ave 27.5mpg but if its hot and i run the A/C all week it drops to 25mpg, but hell of alot better then the 12mpg the f350 van gets and i can go in to boston and park anywhere.
Mine was purchased used in feb with 49,000 and now has 74,000. It was a former GEEK SQUAD truck theres stickers inside on the steel firewall / partion thing.
Only problem we've had is the dam high temp sensor for the fans is broken and twice we've ordered new ones with the vin in hand and gotten the wrong unit..WTF....
Why ford made it so the fans will not run on high if the sensor fails is just plain DUMB move....should be if it fails they don't run in low....some dumb ass never though about what he was designing.

I think this issue needs to be revisited in light of the NEW Transit Connect which WILL get over 30mpg on the highway and be punchier than the old TC. From the specs and pics i've seen, it seems like literally twice the car as the old TC.

I'd still rather the cargo version of the Caravan

Yeah... apparently cutter ran into some personal problems earlier this year and hasn't been around much. Hope he's OK.

that thing will absolutely scoot with the 3.6 VVT too. I rented one to haul a bunch of gear from Virginia to upstate NY last summer. I really put the pedal to the metal up I81, I87, I84 and just about passed out when I fueled up and calculatd 26 mpg.
I liked it so much in fact that I bought a Jeep Rubicon just to get this engine. Sadly, the performance and mileage don't come with the Rubicon

Yeah I can't speak to the Jeep, but 30 mpg highway is attainable by mortals and it feels downright quick. So quick I actually wish Dodge made a 4 cylinder version for easier maintenance.

Just depends on whether you are willing to trade a handful of MPG (and some cargo space) for MORE than a handful of horsepower. I have to figure the ram van is lighter than a normal caravan which is already sprightly with 280hp.
I wouldnt be surprised if an empty ran van ran low 15s in the 1/4, maybe 14s with traction. Speaking of wranglers, a 2dr 3.6/manual wrangler DOES run low 15s in the 1/4, stock. It's kinda goofy.
