Well, I've been searching high and low for just a photo of this so called old early 122/P1800 front hub. It's kind of like that mythical Lotus Europa with a human occupant inside.

If it's true that the 1800E/140/164 all use the same new style front hub with the 5x4.25" bolt pattern then in order to use the 240 front vented disk you have to make an offset brake caliper bracket.

How about instead just modify the outside of the 1800's control arms in order to weld on Chrysler 722 style screw-in 7 degree taper ball joint bungs and ball joints top and bottom and use the 144/164's spindle that is already set up for the vented brake dist? These are the same ball joints that fit the Mustang II spindles top and bottom. I think that the Volvo upper spindle ball joint hole would have to be reamed to match the bottom and I have to try to draw it up in Autocad to see how the ball joints will fit in the Volvo Spindles.

vs the 164's spindle:

SpeedWayMotors.com: Chrysler-Type K772 Screw-In Ball Joint w/ Sleeve  Also comes in extended length

SpeedWayMotors.com: AFCO 80770 Tapered Ball Joint Reamer, 7 Degree

Amazon.com: 7 Degree Ball Joint Tapered Reamer,6542 High-Speed Tool Steel Tapered Ball Joint Reamer, Tapered Reamer Tie Rod For 1-1/2" Per Foot $50

Using the 144/164 spindle means I'm ready for vented brakes from the get go and if I can use the Chrysler 722 ball joints, I can move the upper joint outward a hair and get rid of some of the extreme negative camber I have now with the front of the car lowered so much.

I still need to get the 1800 up on jack stands and measure the spindle ball joint pivot distance and verify if it is close to the same as the 164.
