I'm assuming your talking about the bobbed / Camback rear end.

If so I agree that looks surprisingly good.   I'm kinda surprised it's not more common.  I considered doing it with the WRX when I was potentially bringing it to the challenge.   Other then loss of bumper structure it seems like it just removes weight with no real negative impact to a race car that doesn't need a trunk.  Obviously it removes some crumple zone structure.

Just an fyi..FYI...

There were a few champcars that have done this over the years.  It is now illegal and the car will not be allowed to race.  Needs to keep its crumple zones to be allowed to race.

There are 4 or 5 cars that I can think of that had to reshell to race this year.

You didn't do a very clean job.

In reply to nocones :

Yes, the rear treatment is an interesting premise, and turned out better looking than I ever would have expected too. Possibly even being an upgrade from the original. It actually took me a while to figure out what it was. Initially I misidentified it as one of the lost Neons.

They didn't stop at the rear either... Although that didn't turn out nearly as pleasant.

In reply to wvumtnbkr :

Lucky (Dog) for them, they're not running in Champcar. So still ok for at least this year. Considering the lack of crumple zones on the Scirocco next to it, that seems to be a legal CYA move on their part, rather than actually being about safety.

I actually think it was a pushback to cars being too cut up to be recognizable as an actual car anymore.

However, I like what was done with that zx2 (I'm assuming).
