I tried to add the BMW to the Hagerty policy, but was told they don't believe it is collectible and as such, declined to insure it.

This is disappointing to hear,  as I was thinking of putting my 128i onto a Hagerty policy.

Weird. The Hagerty site gave me a quote for my '23 BRZ since it's driven so little. 25 months of ownership, just passed 3800 miles yesterday.

But it was only about $7/month cheaper than State Farm, and then the other car would lose the "multi-car" discount.

Thanks!

The Integra was sold a while back. I actually sold both the Integra and the Xterra in order to buy the much newer, far lower mileage, still under warranty, AWD Mazda 3 Turbo. After fixing all the things on the 128i, I found that I was rarely driving the Integra anymore, so instead of maintaining and paying insurance on 2 older, high mileage vehicles (Integra and Xterra), I essentially combined them into 1 newer, low mileage (only has 9k on the clock right now) car, for not much more cash.

My guess is that they see the BRZ as more of a "collector car" than the 128i, at least at this point. I suspect that might change one day, as I believe the E82 might end up being like the E30- going from selling for practically nothing, to people being nostalgic and prices starting to go up. I guess only time will tell.
