I have always loved these things. Around here most of them are lifted to the sky with huge tires. They also frequently sell for pretty big money if they aren't rusted hulks.
Then this one popped up of C-List last week. $1500.
1991, and pretty much stock. The interior is in decent shape but it looks like it's been off the road for a long time. Runs and drives. The big thing is there is zero rust. Like none, which is pretty rare even down here.
So tempted. Manual transfer case, stick front axle, probably rides like a buck board. I could get it roadworthy and probably double my money pretty quick if I didn't decide to keep it.
LMC has every part you’ll need. Reasonable too.
Do it.

$1500 bucks? Why is this not already a "followed me home" thread?
For that price, go for it, especially since it's rust free. They are only going to get more expensive as time goes on. Great trucks!
I also love these, irrationally. Especially since I think these still had rear barn doors as an option. Get it. Fix it. Love it.

I think the barn doors continued through 2006 or 2007.

If you don't pick it up soon, someone here is going to find the listing and scoop it up from under you. No downside to that deal.
This thread just reminded me of the one my grandma used to drive...I remember it being two-tone painted (blue and tan?) and had some fancy "choo choo customs" package tacked onto it.

That's a screaming deal for a non-rusty squarebody. If it moves when you put it in gear, get it.
I've got a call into the guy. We will see what happens.
the photos are blurry (I cant count the lug nuts) but if its a 2500 and has a manual trans. BUY THAT SHIZNIT!
I had an 88 just about like that.
They are simple and reliable, cheap to fix.
Rode well for what it is. the weight and long wheelbase made it not be bouncy. Stiff enough suspension to carry speed through turns without it leaning over.
Biggest repair was a busted rear end which I replaced with a NOS military surplus. Exactly the same but a nice tight gov-lock.
Good luck
If you get it & decide to sell the other Suburban you recently acquired, I call "DIBS!"... :)
The neighbor has this yoke. Probably sentimental value and I'd doubt she'd sell. Don't think it has moved in the year I've been here.
Doesn't look exactly the same to me. Earlier gen.?

I love the square body burbs. I used to DD a two tone blue 89, some of you may remember the thread where the tree limb fell on it and totaled it. Below is my 90 that replaced it. While it isn’t my DD, I still drive it regularly and with fuel injection, OD trans, and cold AC it makes for a nice driving rig even though it’s almost 30 years old.
I believe the Barn Door option ended with the 2004.
And this is obviously a K5 Blazer but since were talking about Barn Doors...
Behold:

I’ve never seen a K5 with barn doors. Kinda odd if you take the top off.

It is the same squarebody generation. When the new GMT-400 pickups came out in 1988, the Suburban (Blazer and crew cab trucks included) stayed on the squarebody platform and were called R/V series for 1988-1991.
Toyman, you should be able to flip that Burb pretty easy, really popular trucks and prices are going up on them.
Also of note barn doors were available on the gmt800 through 06. We almost bought one over the sierra
