Tire Rack SCCA Solo Nationals 2020 canceled

More to come, but the word was just announced. No Tire Rack SCCA Solo Nationals for this year. 

Good for them, even if the state forced them to cancel. Their emails keep saying "back to normal" but reality is anything but. If you can't bubble, traveling for sports is a disaster.

I've added two more friends with the virus.  It ain't "back to normal".  And this has always sounded like a densely populated small city-sized event.  Nope.

I'm not planning to go to PRI if they do have it, same with the challenge.  If they still do PRI i'll mail you my credentials if you promise not to have everyone scan my badge so they can spam me.  I had a tuning school guy get extremely angry with me when i quit replying to his emails about $2000 online hptuners classes when i saw the pricing and said no thanks. I blocked his work email and he came at me from his personal email all mfing me for wasting his time(maybe you shouldn't be in sales, because "no" is an acceptable answer)

I'm not counting on PRI either to be honest. I'm just waiting for the last vestige of goodness to get closed so we can just end it and all enter the misery together. 

At least Pandora's box offered hope at the end..... we seem to have lost even that at this point.

I just commented about PRI on the SEMA thread.  I've been a few times because it's free and 2hrs away, but unless things are way different in December this is a skip year.  That place is always stupid crowded.

If I drive to Lincoln and just drive around the lot real fast, can I claim a nation win for 2020? It's my only real shot.

I'm glad Nationals was canceled for a bunch of reasons. Selfishly, I'm not allowed to go because I live in Canada and it would bother me just sitting here while slower cars get that 2nd or 3rd place trophy (or a win if I was lucky) in my class that I would get if I were there. And I also think about the 100 percenters who have been to every Nationals and are very proud of that but they are all seniors now and in a higher risk group of getting sick. Then there's all the folk from states that require a quarantine period upon their return from Lincoln and it's not fair to them to just carry on. And there's the chance that 600 people from out of state descending on Lincoln causes a spike in numbers and jeopardizes future Nationals.

I'm glad they cancelled.  Now would be a good time to re-up your membership, even if you're paid up for the year.  They are going to need some money to keep the lights on.
