OK, I cheaped out here.  The Baja front struts are shot and replacements can be tough to find.  But partsgeek had a killer deal, $130 for both.  How bad could it be?  Well pretty bad.  The spring perch is thinner metal and does not wrap all around the spring like I think they should.  Does this spring perch look safe to you?

The perch is fine.

The springs aren't nearly as much of a load as the dampers are, and the perch only sees spring load

The perch supports the weight.  I doubt the spring would fall off but it looks so flimsy compared to all the other brands.  I am disappointed with partsgeek, the picture they had for it was nothing like what they shipped me.

The perch supports up to the spring rate times the fully extended vs. compressed length of the spring, but this is a lot less than the loads seen at the strut tower, as the damping forces outweigh what the spring can do.

I'm sure it's not partsgeek's fault, they only send what the manufacturers send them.  After seeing multiple different brands of strut come to us in similar boxes with different stickers, and the struts inside all look the same, they're probably all coming out of the same Chinese factory, contracting with all of the different strut suppliers.

On one hand I wouldn't be surprised to find those parts are junk. On the other hand I don't see anything wrong with the perch design in that photo, though it doesn't really show the metal thickness. What is the thickness?

It doesn't look great but a lot of ordinary street struts have similar perches.
