A few years ago I remember reading an article comparing centrifugal superchargers, roots superchargers, and turbochargers. I recall them having a V8 on a dyno and they compared the three while targeting the same peak power with each setup. I want to say it was written by hot rod magazine or grassroots motorsports, but I can't seem to find it using Google or the individual website's search.
Do you guys recall that article at all? I'm looking to reference it to plan my next build.
Luckily for you, Richard Holdener now has a youtube channel where he mostly recaps his extremely long list of engine dyno tests at Westech Performance, along with doing some current builds of his own. He has done several videos that cover what you're interested in.

I've read and followed most supercharger ( roots and centrifugal ) plus Turbo's.
They all have their plus and minus. It really depends on your goals.
The simplest is the roots type. Assuming you have a suitable manifold it will make the most power at lower RPM. Street rods, drag racing, Bopping around, is a good use. You can make more power if you spin it faster. But the efficiency falls off and compressed air gets hot. Too hot it causes problems. Alcohol solves those problems. ( generally)
Centrifugal superchargers have drive problems. Because they spin so fast Belts slip. They potentially will make more power at high RPM and can be easily routed through intercoolers But doing so drops efficiency. ( every time you force air to change direction you lose efficency )
Turbo chargers are more efficient if properly selected. Plus they have complex fueling requirements which are best solved with fuel injection.
In summation no article will give you complete answers it's more a question of your skills and abilities plus how thick is your wallet
