Collecting Hot Wheels is cool, but what about turning up the dial to 11 by modifying them?
This video shows how to turn a pedestrian Porsche Carrera into an elaborate mini-model of an RWB-style 911. Perhaps it’s something to inspire our forum’s unofficial model car contest.

By the way, I first saw this video on FB. I didn't see the title page, and the description didn't say much. I figured I'd check out the video anyway. Once the video going going, I thought maybe we were just doing a simple repaint. And then it kept going deeper and deeper....
I don't have that kind of patience. I think RWB makes his flares the same way.

I missed the part in the video where he puts some black caulk around the body kit smoothed in by fingers.
This is really impressive. The finished look is really cool. I watched another one of them where they went into detail on making wheels using scrapbooking supplies. Very GRM. Looks like this person uses Hobby Lobby Racing like we use Home Depot Racing.
That's pretty rad! Did the wheels just come from a different matchbox car or ?

How do you guys smooth caulk/seam sealer/sealants when it's used to fill between abutting body panels?
It was super common on ERJ145, 170, and 190 belly, wing, and fuselage panels to do exactly what RWB does over parts with complex curves which mate aluminum to composite.
Tape the edges, mix and apply a bead of filler from the SEM (870 b2 usually or b1/2 if I'm in a rush) kit, glove up, alcohol the gloves, run finger between panels to smooth.
Crap, I still do that with bath tubs, trim work, and anywhere else I use caulk. I'd do it in a heartbeat if I was widebody-ing something to keep crap out of the topside of the flares as every build I've ever seen usually only paints seam sealer in the wheel wells.
The video was fun to watch. I don't have that kind of patience.

Oh I agree that's how you do it and I know it's common (I think I still have Silicone under my fingernail from the bathtub I did 6 months ago). It's just if you watch one of the RWB videos they seem to show that process a lot. Putting on the tape, spreading the caulk. It's just a thing that I think is required if any RWB item.

Gotcha. I've only watched one, I think it was the "Philadelphia" video. Nicely filmed and edited, but it remains one of the most brotactular things I've ever seen, and I lived in the SoCal high desert for a decade.
I mean, I've modified Hot Wheels (who hasn't?) but......damn.
