What $4k station wagon to move cross-country?

You can ship stuff via UPS. Much can be shipped for $1000. Thieves prey on people re-locating cross country. I broke down on a cross country move, in Ogalala, Nebraska on the way to UT, from ME. Someone broke into the back of the truck while at the shop, as they were waiting for parts to be shipped. Lost all those great personal items we hold in high regard. Also got ripped off in N.J., on my final leg home for Xmas one year. Cleaned out the interior of the car in seconds after I went into a fast food joint right off the parkway.

Another thought are those PODS. You can load one up with all your stuff, half it taken away and stored, and when you get to your final destination (not sure if they deliver to heaven or hell) they can drop it off for you to unload.

The big pluses, you are not dragging anything across the country, just yourself and the stuff you need for the trip, and the pod is ground level, no climbing in and out of a truck with heavy boxes
