Just how competitive do you think a Saab could be at the Challenge?
How about a worn out old Dwarf Car, with an inline 4 or perhaps 6 in it, rather than the motorcycle engine that they usually run.

Yep,its for sale for $500.Includes most suspension pcs,4 bilsteins springs and coilover hardware, toyota rear axle,'37 coupe body etc etc.Set up for R1 engine which I also have if interested. I'm in Ont. Canada though so don't think I advertised it here.
anyone coming from Ontario towards nc? cause if so, im definitely interested. soooooo much want.
if I can figure out the shipping/delivery, ill definitely get more info, like just how much is missing.
and is it challenge legal? or autox legal?
I've wanted to make a mid engine '96 cutlass for a while now. Take the whole front subrframe from an Olds Aurora with the 3.5L shortstar and shove it in the back. An Oldsmobile NSX. Both those cars can be had for a song.
The local CL had a small electric car from the 70's listed for $500. I had this plan to drop in a HUGE electric motor (free from work). Battery weight wasn't an issue because it only had to run for a quarter mile at a time or so. I missed the auction and it never went anywhere.
I was so happy to see that someone had the same car at the Challenge this year, despite a DNF.
Slab side short box Chevy on bags. Would it be fast? No. Would it be awesome all laid out in the concourse? Yes.
I've had a couple ideas I don't have the time or skill to build. There were two VW buses on CL near me. I was thinking of grafting a second rear section on and powering it with two 3.8 Buick engines, and painting it like a Greyhound bus. If I could figure it out the rearmost axle would steer to help it turn.

I've been around them quite a bit, and someone with good fab skills should be able to shoehorn in a Toyota R22 or Ford 2300.
