I'm going to do some minor strut tower repair one of these days. I'll be cutting out a couple of small rust spots and welding in new metal. The repairs will be hidden by interior panels so looks are a non issue. Historically I've used Rustoleum for things like this, but maybe there's a better option?

Weld thru primer. Welding makes a "galvanizing" like exterior that protects everything. If for some covering anything will do really....
