What’s your favorite car from the year you were born?

While I have no desire to actually own one, I really like the shape of a Pantera. :)

1946 Alfa Romeo 158.....             yep, older than dirt!  

Not much to choose from in 1946. American manufacturers were removing WWII weapons tooling and reinstalling early 40s tooling. Europe/Asia were digging out from bombed factories.

1947 was only moderately better.

1970 Trans Am:

I think it counts as a first-year car because it was significantly revised from the 1969 model. This body style stayed in production for 12 model years.  

Tie for 1st place:

62 Porsche 356 and/or 62 Ford Rancho

On the surface 1976 doesn't offer the most inspiring choices, but for me it is probably the 308 GTB...Second year of production, but hey, you don't get to choose when you are born!

I was born in a year in which the AMC Matador was one of the top ten fastest cars of that year, alongside the Mercury Capri and the Fiat 124.  The year that the muscle car died.

I'm generally not a fan of the direction car design went in around the time I was born, so I'm going a little off the wall with my choice:

Close second is is the 1993 Ferrari 512 TR because I've never met a Pininfarina design I didn't at least like a little bit.

Some days, it feels like it should be this one.  Especially after a visit to the ortho doc.  I don't like to list the year, but let's just say Eisenhower was President, and this Elvis guy was doing o.k. for a young kid.

The story is a salesman checked the right boxes for his company car.  Looks frugal but moves fast and guzzles gas.  Pisses off the accountants when they review the gas receipts.
