I had an account with Copart and had bid on a couple of cars over the years. I have not logged on in a while. At least a year and maybe more? Not sure exactly.    I go to log in today as I found a car that interests me and I find that my account appears to have been deleted BUT in order to have an account, you have to pay a fee.  They use to not cost anything but you had to send them a copy of your license/ID.

Is this a new thing or have I just not been paying attention and missed this.

I have not done Copart. I have done IAA for 3 years or more and they are (and have been) $200 per year to have a non-dealer account to bid on "public sale" cars here in Ohio.

I let my account laps during the early days of covid and have not renewed.

Sometime in early 2021, I think? They sent me a bunch of emails about it. I ignored them because I have already made too many bad decisions on that website. laugh

When you have the market cornered you can charge whatever you want. Copart and IAA are two flavors of essentially the same thing.

You'll need to log in to post.
