In a way, Beetles are the perfect hot rod donor in terms of keeping with the original spirit of the movement - cheap, and thereby attainable by practically anyone, and fertile ground for endless variations. What's not to like?

Distributor in the front. Only a BBC if it has a crank trigger.
Gotta say i love cars like this but only from an art perspective. Especially the beetle based ones.

There is some stuff here that doesn't speak to me (the Audi is definitely one) but you have to admire the creativity and effort put into these. You guys are making me have dirty thoughts regarding a certain willys jeep I have sitting behind my house.
I'm surprised that I haven't seen this one yet on this thread. Maybe not rat, but crazy!
