Yet I really, really want an white NA with a (white) hardtop, on (white) TE37s, a bunch of tasty FM goodies under the hood (about 240-260 trackable BHP would be nice), CF fender flares and Craftsquare mirrors. You can tell I've not spent a second thinking about this idea.

Because what you just described is awesome. As far as not fitting...Elise seats will fix that problem. Based on the mods list you listed, their price seems not of much concern. Also, don't forget some Xidas or Fox coilovers.
Yeah, Elise seats or aftermarket CF Elise seats might be required, as would good suspension.
I also forgot that it just has to sport a genuine Garage Vary front lip.

Cars seem to be a bit like travel. I don't seem to be able to go somewhere and cross it off my list. Instead, mostly places get moved from my List Of Places I've Never Been But Want To Go To over to my List Of Places I've Been But Want To Go Back To.

Very similar for me - there a cars and places I don't want to go back to, but some keep coming up that I do want to revisit.
