...Because someone just traded an '05 in at my store with 100k on the clock, and an automatic trans. I can buy it for less than $7k including tax. It's straight with new-ish tires and a clean CarFax, but it's electric blue with a blue gut.

Pros:

6.0 litres of LS power

Room for four

Did I mention 400hp?

Cons:

No third pedal

Blue leather interior

100k miles

What would GRM do?

While likely better with a manual that V8 has more than enough power to forgive the sins of an automatic. I'd drive it.

Depends where you live. If you deal with traffic on a regular basis, an auto would be just fine.

Plenty of power to do smokey burnouts!

Besides the fact that Pontiac is dead, I'd buy it, even with the atrocious blue interior.

If rush hour traffic is something you see, I see no problem. If you have joint issues, I see no problem. If you just want a car that you enjoy because you enjoy it, I see no problem.

I like those blue interiors. Of course, I am driving a 10AE miata now, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

If it helps, I don't remember the GTO shifting like my Miata.

I'd probably want to wave a tune at the transmission controller but I wouldn't kick it out of the driveway, not at that price, no sir.

The response from you all seems favorable. I'll see how it checks out in the shop and maybe it'll be mine.

Now... Ask my wife or just bring it home?...Hmmm.

Dude, buy it, and one of us will give you some extra on top of it if you decide you don't like it. $7k is a steal if it's in good shape, and I know you guys don't tend to buy junky cars.

Another vote for the electric blue. To me, it livens up the bland styling of the car.

Go for it. If you hate it, you can flip for profit. I you love it, you can do a trans swap.

I would buy the E36 M3 out of it, drive it for a summer, then sell it because of the blue leather.
