It's funny that somebody can look at this thread, where the Patriots have been mentioned just 2 times (once as a joke and once as general background for why somebody had interest in this case), and get defensive about the Patriots, saying that we're all a bunch of Pats haters. The Patriots don't need to be defended here. It's not always about you guys!
This guy was the knuckle-iest of knuckleheads pretty much his entire life. He threw away a tremendous life to continue his knuckleheaded ways. He was convicted of murder and potentially involved in others. I'm not sad that a man that was likely a monster is gone and no longer a burden to society. That being said, I'm not going to celebrate the loss of human life either, especially because of a former employer.

Actually, his misadventures have plenty to do with pro sports. The moral and behavioral shortcomings of talented athletes are almost invariably dismissed if they can play. I find it an interesting commentary on what is important to our society.

Please don't sully the name of Sheriff JW Pepper by including him in a thread about a POS murderer.
Secret agent??? On whose side??????
He has here by commandeered this thread
What are you? Some kinda doomsday machine boy?
In reply to STM317:
Pats fans are just that way. They can't help themselves. They've stood behind that bunch of exposed cheaters and explain the behavior away. Why would this be any different.
I stand by my first post in this thread: Bye Felicia.
I'm not even a football guy but I almost drove off the road laughing this morning when our local radio station reported that Aaron Hernandez would be out the rest of this season with a neck injury.

Maybe because in typical Patriots fashion he cheated and barely served three years of a life sentence.

Yes, it is quite clever. I heard that one and several variations of it on sports talk radio yesterday.
The reality is that most people who murder others have a mental defect and it's estimated that around 80% of the entire prison population could be technically diagnosed as sociopaths. This is usually characterized by a host of behaviors but some of the most notable are a deficit of empathy, inability to conceptualize a future, and poor impulse control. Most of these seem to describe Hernandez. The fact that he was a pro football player is irrelevant.

Apparently if you die during an appeal of a conviction, the original conviction becomes null and void, thereby entitling his daughter to the remainder of his guaranteed money.
And multiple news outlets are reporting that the conviction is likely to be expunged due to his death. Interesting. Sometimes you are more "valuable" in death than alive.

Well now it makes a lot of sense. He's looking out for his daughter.

His attorney is Jose Baez. He wouldn't stop to something that low.

Well he died doing what he loved best apparently.

Killing people.
Oddly they said he wrote John 3:16 on his head and he had a Bible open to that verse.
That's the basic Bible verse explaining God's plan of salvation. So did he become a born again Christian at the last hour? Makes me wonder.......
I've always been a bit confused why people are shocked when football players turn out to be violent. Has anybody ever watched a football game?

When you consider that pro sport teams have more in common with a with an operation that breeds pit bulls for fighting than than not, stuff like this is not all that surprising.
I see Pro player out of the stadium and I think Top Fuel car trying to go to the grocery store.

"Aaron Hernandez may have murdered a former pal to protect his most guarded secret — that he was bisexual, a new report says. The muscle-bound former New England Patriots tight end allegedly had a longtime male lover, a friend from high school, and left behind a suicide note this week addressed to a gay jailhouse lover, Newsweek said."
