There's also the EV1 club site, which is the saddest car club website...in the world. These people loved their cars more than most because they were the future!

This is basically the last entry on the site. As you can imagine, it hasn't seen a lot of updates recently.

Back in my day, there was no way onto the web other than AOL.  You grabbed the CD from WalMart (or one of the ten they mailed you a month) and created a free account that was your e-mail and web access as well as your landing page and source for most news.

Before that, I used to dial a phone number on a headset, then put the headset on a cradle...oh never mind.  Get off my lawn!

I still use AOL.  Seriously.  I've had the same e-mail address for just about 20 years now, I just don't feel like changing it.  Then again, I don't text, use FB or YouTube, so there's that.

Ditto.  As a run of the mill email for things I don't want sent ot work, AOL still works.  The home page looks like any other modern news page.  I have a gmail address, but hardly ever use it.  I do text, use FB and watch a crap-load of YouTube videos, though...  I probably watch YouTube more than regular TV these days.

Most of the original rice rockets are long gone, but astonishingly Bryan's Rice Boy Page is still around. Good times.

The "mono blade" wiper 'conversion' never went out of style. Nope nope.

I am a current member of the mono-blade club

Doing a mono blade basically makes it a race car

Still around and still pissing people off. Maddox and Patreon were both recently involved in a high enough profile 1st  amendment SLAPP lawsuit that it drew the ire of Ken White over at Popehat.

I think that one has changed over time.

June 2000 version of GRM

My eyes.  They bleed.  (I wonder if the 1988 MAZDA 323 GTX. Turbo in the classifieds is still available)

Given the way that GTXes change hands, it's probably been available five times since then.

Man, that GRM message board looks ANCIENT!

It makes me wonder what the evolution of forums will have in store for us next and how archaic this will seem 15 years down the road...

In reply to Tony Sestito :

Back around the late-90's/Y2K there was a group of (primarily) import guys around Bloomington-Normal/Peoria, IL that started a club & forum called Central Illinois Imports. A bunch of them got seriously into autox and still do to this day. There were some ownership/financial issues and everything died probably by 2010 or so. Some of the guys started a new site - Central Illinois Car Enthusiasts - but it looks like that site is down now too.

I think somebody actually sued whoever owned the first one. Cicenet was still alive less than a year ago, but I'm guessing that after Dave moved to Atlanta no one else kept up with it.
