There is another thread here on GRM about "what you're watching" which focuses on TV mostly but that thread inspired me to share this that comes to me on FB.  I have no idea how I ever saw my first Andy's Little Homestead but I've enjoyed it and now I look forward to "the next instillment."  Some recent installments have been on junkyards and carburetor rebuilding.  But, this is not an automotive channel.  Other installments have been on cooking or building or even a segment of building an outhouse...to code!    Andy is roofer by trade.

Background:  Andy was from North Carolina and the Coast Guard took him places including a long stint in coastal Mississippi, etc.  All this started about 1.5 years ago when he moved to Northern Michigan, near Mancelona (slight east of Traverse City) to live on a remote 5 acre plot in a 18ft camper.  He's about 30 yrs old.

This link should take you to every one of his FB videos.  I recommend watching them in order, oldest to newest.  But, if you want to try a taste, here are a few that will likely appeal to GRMers.

Farmer Tricks:  This is the video that put Andy on the map, now with 9 million views.

Buying a $5k pickup: " Buying another sh!tbox so you can have a daily while you work on your other sh!tbox"

Andy goes to the junkyard:  "The happiest place on earth"  A much newer installment with better production.  And, the companion piece of why he's at the JY getting straight 6 parts.

So, is some of this just me shilling for some guy making dollars on FB...yeah.  But, he's a genuine guy who stumbled onto a new path making videos but he's still working too.  I'm real happy to help him.  In real life, hes a guy that I would enjoy stopping by and seeing every so often; hang out and have some coffee together.  So, when his new videos arrive, it a nice little visit.

Don't start with this video but it's important to see...  Here, about a year into posting videos, Andy goes from superficial videos to personal life where you learn you've been watching a guy come up from rock bottom.  So, yeah, I'm happy to see things only get better.

If you're avoiding FB, his website might be the way to see the videos.
