*hooker.
Hit a wall for a bit. A couple of "out of town/going out for dinner/BEEEEERS/wings" weekends in a row didn't help, but I'm back on track! 211.4 this morning. 9.6 OUNCES away from 25 lbs. lost! Ahead of schedule for losing 30 by the end of the year, so I'm shooting for 199 or better come Jan. 1...though the "holiday season" probably isn't going to help. Spending 4 days with my brother over TDAY, which typically means the drinking starts at 11AM and stops sometime after midnight. Hopefully I can keep that in check for at least 3 outta 4 days.
I've lost another 5lbs......I think it is because I am eating 3-4 times a day instead of once.
The best news, I can fit in the racing seats the BMW has comfortably again.......its been 4 years since I could say that.
No idea on the actual weight loss, but most of my belts are one notch tighter compared to... 1-2 months ago?
So I missed my Jan 1. target, but I hit 30 pounds last week. Currently at 32. A mere 4 pounds away from a number that starts with a "1!"
No scale, but my friend that I haven't seen in about 6 months asked if I had lost weight... With as much hockey as I have been reffing (10 games last weekend, 2 college, 1 junior, 3 high school, 3 adult, 1 youth; 3 high school this weekend) and playing (2 times a week), it is very possible.
Or more likely, I haven't lost weight but have gained leg muscle and lost fat.
I have been, accidentally. I have a few issues with...MH stuff. No gory details, but I switched, or more appropriately got myself back on medication. Kind of a motherberkeleyer to admit that it's a problem. HOWEVER- I've been able to sleep for the first time in a decade, and have been feeling a lot more...connected. As a result, I've probably dropped 15lbs in the past month or so? It's going to continue, as well. I am desperately trying to cut sugar, and my wife is going back on her pregnancy diet (she was diabetic at the time, so that) and I'm going to follow it, because it's easier than making two meals. So, that will probably continue.
I'm down 12 pounds since the new year. We switched to a gluten-free-ish diet, and have been eating fewer processed foods. More fresh fruits and vegetables, and smaller portions is pretty much all we've done.
It's loosely based on the "paleo" diet. I had a bagel and sandwich (with a bun) over the weekend, and was sick for about 4 hours.
Well, the scale bit the dust a while back and we haven't replaced it yet, but I notice my clothes and even my watchband are looser lately. I have been doing water aerobics to increase my range of motion and cardio that I can't do on land. I know my weight probably hasn't changed much but I have more muscle now, and that's alright with me.
I've been continuing to eat the crap I like, but in reduced portions, and keeping the hunger at bay with snacks of things like nuts or fruit. I've lost 4 pounds in the past week with a LONG way to go. Want to get back into working out once I can get rid of this damn cold I've had for 2+ weeks.
I'm trying to lose weight, but I'm not really paying attention to actual weight. More like I'm trying to drink less soda and do more exercise. If I don't lose much weight (I hope I do, though) at least I'll be a little healthier.
So, I think I will go ahead and give up all sweets, beer, and soda's for Lent. Now I never said Jack Daniel's, so I have something to fall back on. Hopefully, I can keep going with that and start shaving off pounds.
I went off the rails yesterday and ate 30 insanely hot wings, meatballs slathered in cheese, a bunch of chip/things that get dipped in sour cream, ice cream cake, too many Torpedo IPAs and probably some celery by association.
I'm pretty sure it's what is usually referred to as a "major setback". I'm taking my puffy arse out for a run right now in a snow shower as punishment.
I keep putting new holes in my belt. I am down from a 44" waist to a measured 41" from about 335lbs to a current 256. The goal is 210 by October 31, 2014. The last three months were a double edged sword for me. New house, new city, new job, new girlfriend, terrible control of my diet for the holidays.
Beating my goal earns me a gym membership and if I stay with that and beat the secondary goals I am buying a Corvette for myself.
Good work John!! Keep it up.
I have started tracking calories with My Fitness Pal App/website. I doubt I have lost much weight yet but I imagine that I will loose a bit here and there and one day will need to buy new pants, which I am ok with. This is a huge PITA but it keeps me honest.
GPS - I ate something like 4K calories Saturday. That is what I get for day drinking and ordering pizza. As penance I exercised more than usual Sunday morning and spent 2.5 hours fighting my dirtbike in the mud and ice yesterday. It wore my ass out.
I've been trying to drop some weight lately. I've been using my fitness pal app and have lost 10lbs since the start of the year. I find the app really handy, but my self control is lacking. I lose 3 pounds, then eat a bunch and gain 4, then slowly get lower, then gain it back. I should really be exercising more, but its difficult ad I've been nursing a sprained ankle for the past few weeks. I hope I can heal up quickly.
Due to constant stove access, free gas, and easy access to a cheap butcher/smokehouse causing me to gain like 20lbs, I've started eating 1lb of carrots per day, we shall see.
Ugh, that 15 or so I had lost, most of it came back after the all-inclusive Jamaica visit followed by Thanksgiving the next week, all the eating and parties, booze in December.
Finally getting back into a healthier pattern of eating and much less drinking. It's always the tasty beer that gets me.
Weighing in daily helps me a lot. I can SEE the "bonus beer" or lunch at waffle house. "Cheat days" are really not an option anymore if I want to hit my goal.
And Z31maniac: I FEEL YOUR PAIN! My beer buddy is a Bengals fan. I drank a dozen berkeleying BAWLER beers while watching them get their asses beat in the playoffs. Saw the horrible results the next day
For me looking at weight everyday is like looking at the track right infront of the car. Instead I weigh every week and a half or so, looking ahead as best you can.
Maybe its more of an issue here where its way dryer than most places but I can drink a couple liters to a gallon of water no problem if I've been at work or working on a car. Since a gallon of water is 6-7 lbs then my 'weight' can vary by that depending on if I've been at work or not.
