Mother in law's employer got us pit passes for the Richmond race on saturday. Should be quite epic!
I am just a casual fan, I don't know how I am killing it in the picks! I have made them all before qualifying based on last years results and gut instinct.
I got tickets for the August Bristol race. Should be awesome with the new/old surface.
As for our league,.... seems to be dying out.
Yeah, sorry. Some really important E36 M3 came up and I had to alienate myself.
I'll have to upload a few pics from last weekend, we had hot passes and were in the infield the whole race. Walked right past Rutledge Wood in the garage area before the race, I'm kicking myself because I didn't approach him for a photo.
Gonna be at Bristol this weekend to cheer on my picks
Dude, have fun! Bristol is my favorite circle track with CMS as a close second! I will be at Atlanta for Labor Day.
Its my first time going to Bristol, but it has always been my favorite. Hoping it returns to the way it was after they have resurfaced the track back to the old specs.
I've been to Daytona, Charlotte, Martinsville, Texas and Rockingham (when Cup still raced there) And I've toured Talladega. After this weekend Bristol will be on the list, and I think Atlanta is my next road trip.
Charlotte holds a close second because it is my favorite track I have driven on. This maybe blasphemy for some, but even over Road Atlanta. The first time driving on banked turns is something I won't forget. Doing 110-115 mph in a turn in a VW was incredible.
Bristol is on my wife and my bucket list of tracks we want to see. It's about an 8 hour drive from us. One of these years...
Anti-stance, I a road racer too and love doing it more than anything. But I've done several HPDE days at Pocono. A few times, I did the "long" course there, which means you get onto the main track right at pit in and go all the way down the looooooong front straight and through turn 1. The first time I dove down into 1, which has fairly steep banking, my stomach almost came out of my throat. I was only doing about 100 or so. I can't imagine what it's like when the NASCAR guys hit it at 200.
Bristol is about 13 hours away from me. But after this past weekend, we are already planning our next visit there. What a place! Best race I've ever been to!
Tip; Bring ear plugs, or wear head sets for scanners. Have something to cover your ears. It is called Thunder Valley for a reason!
Even during practice and qualifying it is LOUD!
My NASCAR fantasy league involves road courses and fuel injection.
