Just wondering if anyone else here has experience with Monarch, or any other similar platforms.
I tried using Mint previously, but my Credit Union and other account never seemed to be able to stay linked, and Mint is no more.

I just use Excel, in a spreadsheet linked to the one I use for my check register. I can filter by payee to come up with monthly averages and yearly totals. It's on my desktop though I could probably make the leap to Google docs.
All the credit card stuff is a monthly lump sum, but I can go to the CC website to analyze that.
I use Monarch and was a Mint user. Overall, it feels very half-done and kinda crude. Mint was better when it would connect, but Monarch also struggles occassionally with some accounts. I like to do most of my own data combing on my own in Excel and Python, but you really need an aggregator these days. It would take an hour each day if I manually went to every account I have to pull together everything, so, for that, Monarch is useful. That and for quick glances, it is useful, but just 'meh' for in-depth stuff.
We use Monarch and Excek to help track over time. Love our excel for a quick/easy snapshot of moments in time, but monarch has been good.
it did have difficulties with our smaller bank, but for the other banks available on Plaid it's been solid. I like that it does break down our spending categories for Credit cards and budgets without having to be a second/deeper dive there.
YNAB is the choice here. Probably because I paid for a full copy 15 years ago and it still works instead of the subscription service everything has moved to.
I'm also using Monarch, and a former Mint user as well. I have to say that since I retired I have been lazy about using it for any in depth tracking, but as an aggregator it seems to work decently. I use it like I used Mint, for a quick look at overall balances and expenditures. If you use a lot of different credit cards it's handy to have them aggregate in one list.
Monarch has decided that my Hardees steak biscuit is a recurring expense that I should expect every three days. I really gotta stop going there.

Same here, it does what I need it to
I (actually my wife) has resorted to uploading to Google spreadsheets since Mint went away. Didn't know about Monarch, might have to check it out. I didn't know about YNAB either... thanks.
I use SWMBO for budgeting and planning. It might not be the best solution but happy wife happy life...
